Rex Manning Day was last night at the Vaudeville Mews, and it was so much fun. Huge turn-out, and great bands. The promoter, Jessica Miller, did an amazing job gettin people in the door. Check out her store in the East Village, Hill Vintage, it’s pretty dope. I bought an Elvis shirt from her, and found out later on, that it had been one of my buddy’s shirts. No shit. He wears it, gets too small, sells it to Jessica, then I walk in, and buy the same damn shirt. I work with the guy at the Lift! I tell him, next time, just give me a sneak peak before you go sellin anything.
If you don’t already know, Rex Manning was a character in the movie Empire Records. It’s not on my résumé, but you can actually see me in the movie. Watch the scene with Liv Tyler and Renee Zellweger, they’re outside a cafe talkin, and in the background, you can see me walkin up the sidewalk towards em. I’m wearin a hat. Look for the guy who jumps up and high-fives an awning.
As Rex Manning once profoundly said, Say No More, Mon Amour and that’s what I’m gonna do.
From my heart to yours,
